Tiane Burke Stephen

      Mrs. Stephen is a native of Jamaica. She came to the United States with aspirations of becoming an attorney with an international focus. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Policy Studies from Rice University in Houston, Texas and her Juris Doctor degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas. Mrs. Stephen has successful personal experience with navigating the immigration process. Her successful personal experience with the immigration process has gifted her with the unique ability to go above and beyond competent and accurate legal advice for her clients. To this end, Mrs. Stephen prides herself on listening and understanding her client's unique cultural background. This is important because often non-legal factors, taken in totality allows attorney Burke Stephen to deliver highly personalized and highly effective legal services to her clients.   



      Mrs. Stephen founded The BurkeStephen Law Firm to provide client centered legal services in the two areas of the law she is most passionate about - Immigration and Nationality Law and Family Law. Prior to founding The BurkeStephen Law Firm, Mrs. Stephen gained experience in U.S. Immigration Law and Family Law while working for a well respected and highly experienced Immigration and Family Law firm in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Stephen has provided legal counsel to obtain immigration benefits on various family immigration applications/petitions, citizenship and naturalization applications, defenses to removal proceedings, counseled clients regarding various non-immigrant visas, employment based permanent residence, as well as prepared clients for non-immigrant visa interviews at overseas United States Embassy or Consulate. 

 

      In the area of family law, Mrs. Stephen works in collaboration with clients to design and execute key strategies by applying her knowledge and unique problem solving skill sets to simple and complex family law issues. .



      Mrs. Stephen brings personal and unique knowledge to assist atheltes in their immigrant and non-immigrant needs. Her track and field background uniquely equips her to provide athletic clients with strategic counseling on all relevant matters of U.S. Immigration and Nationality Law and compliance. She will work closely with each athlete to create and implement customized strategies that are focused on the athlete's individual immigration needs coupled with seamless case management, all while respecting the athlete's time and training schedule.   



      When not engaged in the practice of law, Mrs. Stephen enjoys spending time with her family and friends.



Interesting Personal Fact: Mrs. Stephen is formerly a successful international 100m sprint hurdler representing her native country Jamaica at the junior level in regional and international track and field events such as Carifta Games, Central America and Caribbean Games and Pan American Junior Championship.
